A Fall chill is in the air now, and most of the leaves are gone. Soon our thoughts will be turning to the Christmas season.

The Walk to Bethlehem is a FREE event that will again take place in Pefferlaw, at the Cedardale Church, 471 Pefferlaw  Road (York Road 21), one km. South of Hwy 48. The journey begins on Friday, November 20th, at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, November 21st, at 6:00 p.m., finishing at 10:00 p.m. on both evenings.

The Walk to Bethlehem is a very special opportunity to take a step back in time, and a walk down our road to Bethlehem in Judea, experiencing sights and sounds from 2000 years ago on the night that Joseph and Mary arrived in that little town to pay their taxes and to be counted in the Roman census. It is an occasion to visit the hustle and bustle of the Bethlehem marketplace, to meet with shepherds out in the fields who have seen strange and wonderful sights. This is your family’s chance to experience a realistic re-enactment of the first Christmas.

You will enjoy warmth and music of the season before your family group is guided along the road to “the City of David”. During the 15-minute walk, you will see and speak with soldiers, shepherds, kings, beggars and many others. You will see and touch live animals in authentic settings, visit the inn and stable, and witness wonders and spectacles that surrounded the birth of Jesus.

This is a wonderful way to prepare for the Christmas season, an opportunity that your family should not miss. Rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
