A Message About Coronavirus

Last update: Saturday, April 18, 2020 @ 5:45pm
The attendance for our Sunday morning online worship service just keeps on increasing each week. We encourage you to join with us for Sunday morning worship in song and Scripture and a message from God presented by Pastor Grant. Share our website address with a friend or relative or someone you think would benefit from this time of worship or who needs an opportunity to begin or re-establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow (April 19th) we plan to have an interactive Sunday School online discussion, following the service, where all of us can join together to talk about God's message and share some of the struggles and blessings that we've been encountering during Covid. We really hope you will be able to participate with us.

We are so very excited that, in the midst of the uncertainty of this CoVid-19 challenge, people are turning and returning to the church. Last week, our March 29th ONLINE worship experience had over 500 in attendance between social media figures directing people to our website and Google Analytics that reported the attendance figures of people from different countries. Most of our viewers were from Canada, but we also had visitors to our worship service from USA, Mexico, Malawi and South Korea. And some of them travelled on through our website to check out our new Daily Bible Study series from TheBibleProject and our Sermon Archive which now has two online messages to stream.
We are all challenged by the restrictions we're experiencing during CoVid-19; however, the Gospel message is still going out into all the world, and we are trusting and relying on God to walk with each of us and all of us, through this valley and out the other side. For this, too, shall pass.
We pray that many will come this Sunday, April 5th to join with us during our Palm Sunday online service. We will be taking Communion together, so be sure to prepare your own individual bread or cracker and a small glass of juice to participate along with everyone.

Join us online again tomorrow morning at 10:00am on our website for our second online worship service. Be prepared to click on some buttons to begin the worship music, to scroll to the Scripture reading, and to Pastor Grant's message, and to our closing song of worship. We hope you'll join us so that we can worship together, apart, until we are able to come together once again at 471 Pefferlaw Road.

We're hosting an online worship service tomorrow morning at 10:00am right here on our website. We will send out a link to the webpage via e-mail and through Facebook, a few minutes before service time so you will be able to join us for worship. We would love to have you and even some of your friends and relatives join with us. There will be a time of worship music and Scripture reading and a message from Pastor Grant.
It's not a Live-Stream event, so there will be a certain amount of "audience participation". But we're excited to be able to provide our first ever attempt at an online worship service. Hope you'll join us and be filled with the Joy of the Spirit as we worship together, even though we're apart.

Cedardale Church Family,
Under a directive from our D.S. Steve Ottley, we are required to immediately suspend all in-person services and gatherings until further notice. This response to CoVid-19 is not from a place of fear or diminished faith, but from a place of Love -- love for one another, especially the most vulnerable among us -- and love for the communities that God has called us to be salt and light in.
What does this mean to Cedardale members and adherents? Well, it means that we cannot get together at 471 Pefferlaw Road for:
- Sunday morning church services
- Sunday prayer meetings
- Wednesday Bible discussion
- Wednesday evening prayer meetings
- Community dinners
- Church Board meetings
- Auxilliary (NMI, NYI, SDMI, Finance Committee, etc.) meetings
I intend to be onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the foreseeable future to take phone calls [Church: (705) 437-2170; My cell: (289) 231-8955] from people wishing to speak with me for prayer and for other matters and challenges as we move through these current circumstances.
We are currently working on a method to share an online Sunday morning worship experience with everyone from the comfort of your own home. We would like to share some worship songs with you, and I would like to provide a message to you as well. There might even be some announcements that Karen will share. We don't know exactly what all this is going to look like yet, but I will keep you posted via e-mail and website announcements.
Our website address is: [CedardaleChurch.ca]
I know that you're all concerned about the ongoing operations of Cedardale Church and how you can continue to support your church through giving. We already have online e-transfer giving set-up where you can use donate@CedardaleChurch.ca to make e-transfer givings. We are also working on having a webpage where you can go to provide your givings using a debit or credit card. You can also drop your cheques by the church while I'm there on Tuesday through Thursday. Please place your cheque in a sealed envelope (your givings envelopes are perfect) so I can pass it to our finance personnel for proper handling, just as we do with your regular Sunday morning givings.
As a church, we should be watching carefully for opportunities to serve our community and one another, however and wherever we can. We have set-up a Facebook EVENT called, "I Have_, I Need_, I Can Do_" so that folks in the Pefferlaw area can openly express a need that they have and get a response. Or you can offer your help or services. The web address is: [https://www.facebook.com/events/1472176429655073]. There is an ABOUT tab where you can read what it's all about, and a DISCUSSION tab where you can read the comments and responses, and offer to help.
We ARE the church. We have our mission-field and we each have the calling that God has placed on our heart. We will continue to GO and make disciples as God has commissioned us to.
"The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."
Numbers 6: 24-26
I love you, and look forward to when we'll all be together once again.
Pastor Grant

In response to the rapidly changing situation surrounding the Corona virus (Covid-19), we wanted to reach out and let you know that we will be continuing our church services this weekend at 471 Pefferlaw Road.
Due to our desire to keep you and your family healthy, we ask that you self-screen and choose, wisely, whether you will join us to worship, and only if you are in good health. Sanitary protocols continue throughout the church building.
Our plan is to continue to build community and keep us connected, and our prayer is that this new experience will make us even stronger as a church family! We choose to bring the Light of Jesus to our community in any way we are able. Watch with us for opportunities to help and serve wherever there is need.
We are confident and full of faith that although these days are complex and genuinely unsettling for many, we will see God turn this around into a miraculous story of grace and peace. Our faith remains in Jesus and we rest confidently in the hope that He brings, in and through every season.
We are praying for you and your family and look forward to seeing you this Sunday. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and CedardaleChurch.ca for Covid-19 updates, online giving capabilities and further information.
A reminder that giving to Cedardale's ministry and operations can be done easily through e-transfer to DONATE@CedardaleChurch.ca. We appreciate your on-going support.

SPECIAL NOTICE - EI CLAIMS - COVID-19 QUARANTINE
Service Canada has provided a SEPARATE phone line to contact them to set up EI claims for quarantine, illness, work closure, etc., due to COVID-19. They will not help you with anything else at this number. The number is 1-833-381-2725.
Likewise, the main EI number cannot help you with COVID-19 claims. There is over an hour average wait time to speak to someone at the main number, so please take some of the load off them and use the COVID-19 # if that is what you need to talk to them about.
Also, they are waiving the 1 week waiting period for 2 week quarantines, so if you are affected, apply right away.
