David and Lisa Johnson serve as Global missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene in Madagascar. Appointed to Madagascar in 2000, David and Lisa served there in various capacities until February 2011. At that time, during a period of political unrest in Madagascar, they transferred to the Horn of Africa field and worked there until September 2015. In September 2015 David and Lisa returned to Madagascar to coordinate the work of the church in the Indian Ocean. They work with local church leadership in Madagascar to develop the district by planting new churches and training pastors. They also work with contacts in other Indian Ocean island nations in an effort to bring the Church of the Nazarene to those countries. David and Lisa have two daughters. Lauren works at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and is also working on a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University. Amanda is at Trevecca majoring in English. David and Lisa are both graduates of Trevecca Nazarene University. |
